We will use this technique when we have exclusively the two same candidates in the same block, row or column.
If in this area (block, row or column), the two candidates are the only one present in two cells, they have to be eliminated from other cells of the area.
We notice that in the following example, the "5" and the "6" are the only one present in 6th and 7th column.

We thus be sure that the "5" is present in 6th or the 7th column and that it is the same for the "6". We can thus eliminate candidates 5 and 6 in all the other boxes from the area concerned.
